Shinichi was born in Nagano and brought up in Saitama, Japan. He and his family (wife and one year old son) love Dunedin and will stay here as long as they live! He is interested in three main areas of research: Animal Behaviour, Evolutionary Biology and Applied Statistics. He loves sleeping all weekend and watching Japanese cartoons. Apart from that, his hobby is to work harder than anybody else around him and he has recently discovered the wonder of frogs as model systems for his research!
